Never doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.- Margaret Meade.

For those of you who have lived in this neighborhood more than ten years, know the difference that our volunteers have made. Each one of us has something to give and what a gift that is when we use it to better out world.\How can you help? There are many ways, most of which do not involve a great skill or even a lot of time. Here are the different areas in which any member of the S-Section can choose to serve.

The S-Section Board, consisting of four positions held for two years. These positions are elected by the residents of the S-Section at the fall general meeting. They are; President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

Committees
Gardening
- This group works to beautify our front entrance and two parks with flowers and plantings. Plantings usually take place about twice per year and weeding and watering takes place as needed. Have a green thumb? Then lend us a hand!

Welcome- The Welcome Committee ensures that each of our new neighbors receives a warm welcome and a package of information pertaining to the neighborhood, local services and government agencies. We even try to include some tasty goodies as well!

A great big Thank You to Barbara Lommel
for doing such a beautiful job
on the front entrance and parks!

Fall Festival- The Fall Festival takes place annually in October. These committee members organize all the activities that take place on this very fun filled day. Local vendors are contacted for services such as DJ and pony rides and food. Local businesses are contacted for donations for our raffle prizes. It is our biggest and most exciting event.

Fundraising- Our Fundraising Committee promotes activities and sales that would benefit our efforts to beautify the S-Section.

Mommy and Me- In the spring and fall months while the weather is mild, we have Mommy and Me in the Sycamore Circle park. This is a great way for new moms to meet other moms and for neighbors with young children to get together and socialize. This program only needs one mom, but some moms like to share this role. Every Monday morning at 10AM our volunteer opens our shed and puts out fun toys for the kids to play with such as bubbles, chalk and balls. It is how many long term relationships between care givers have been formed.

The easiest and most simple way to get involved in the Circle of Friends is through membership. We rely on membership dollars to fund our clean-ups and beautification efforts, to run our website and to print our newsletter. You ten dollar annual contribution goes a long way!

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions on how you can get involved, please e-mail us at volunteers@sycamorecircle.org
